Stop Snoring Exercises
Although lots of people snore, many do not realize the benefits exercise has on the throat and lungs. Getting in shape can actually alleviate your sleeping problem, and we’re not just talking about the kind you do in the gym. There are stop snoring exercises designed to work the muscles that often cause the condition. Strengthening these areas is likely to greatly reduce your snoring problem and, in many cases, may even relieve you of the annoyance.
Singing. This is known to be one of the most effective ways to strengthen your throat. It is also an enjoyable exercise that can be practiced many places: in the car, in the shower, at home…basically anytime you can play music! If you want to do more specific singing methods to help curb snoring, try singing through the vowels (A,E,I,O,U) or simply “La, La, La, La” a few times a day.
Tongue Exercises. This technique will help make your tongue stronger and may prevent it from blocking your airway when you sleep. Begin by sticking your tongue out as far as you can. Hold it out for 5 seconds, then relax. Stick your tongue out again, this time downward, and try to touch your chin. Hold 5 seconds and relax. The third time stick your tongue upward and try to touch your nose. Also hold for 5 seconds, then relax. Try doing 5-10 sets of these throughout the day. You may feel silly, but it has been found to be one of the better stop snoring exercises.
These two stop snoring exercises are not the only ones people practice on a daily basis, but they have both been successful in getting rid of the annoying habit for many people. Just practice these a few times a day, and you will have strong mouth, jaw, and throat muscles before you know it…and it may rid you of your noisy nights!
